Saint Ginés de la Jara by La Roldana
Wonderful video from Paul Getty Museum, explaining how a Spanish baroque sculpture was produced.
It is simply the best educational video on Spanish art I have ever found on the web. That's the reason I wanted to share it with my students and friends.
I tried hard to find the script so as to produce a listening and reading exercise but I could not get it.
By the way, did you hear that there is finally a project to restore our Monastery of San Ginés de la Jara by the Mar Menor. Wonderful news for our Patron Saint!
A third element, which makes this art work even more interesting, it is the artist: La Roldana, a woman whose life is a mistery itsef.
